We’re delighted to welcome Liam Headen to the JMP team, who joins as our new junior social & content producer.

As an introduction, we asked Liam some questions to help you know him a little bit better.

Tell us a little about you away from work…

For as long as I can remember, sport has been the focus of my life. I try to play football regularly and thoroughly enjoy watching cricket, F1 and the occasional UFC card at 4am  – which tends to take up most of my weekends!

I love being active and try to workout when I can either with a run or heading to the gym. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve also picked up an interest in walking and hiking and love exploring new places on foot with my favourite adventure so far being Snowdonia’s Crib Goch.

When I’m not consuming or participating in sport, I also enjoy hanging out with those closest to me and I enjoy playing video games to relax. That being said, I refuse to refer to myself as a ‘gamer’.

A little about your career so far, What got you into the industry?

Studying Sports Journalism felt like a natural progression after school, combining my knack for writing with my passion for sport. In 2023, I joined the media team Bristol Rovers and threw myself into the role over a busy summer that saw plenty of signings and even a change of ownership. I learnt from the best and was fortunate enough to work alongside some really talented people and went onto become the Acting Head of Media & Communications. All providing me with an abundance of experience in a short period of time.

It was there that I realised I had a passion and talent for communications, social media and producing content. This led me to make my own short documentary and co-produce my own football podcast to stay engulfed in and further pursue a career in the content creation space.

Proudest achievement so far?

There’s plenty of moments during my time at Rovers that I’m really proud of but producing the 140th anniversary kit video was a real honour and we did our best to truly reflect the club’s history and the significance of the commemoration.

Where do you get your inspiration for content?

Like most people my age, I spend a lot of my time on social media or consuming content one way or another; watching Youtube whilst eating alone has pretty much become mandatory.

However, after being on shoots and learning everything that goes into content creation, I struggle to watch anything without picking it apart or analysing it with a producer’s brain. As a result, I’m always coming up with new ideas or ways to improve a video – it’s non-stop!

Someone I really admire and take inspiration from is WillNE, his humour and ability to come up with entertaining concepts really set him apart. It’s also been impressive to see how he’s been able to grow and diversify his audience in recent years in a space where many struggle too.

Why did you decide to join JMP?

Having worked with JMP a handful of times during my Rovers days, I knew them to be an elite production and creative agency that could be trusted to deliver any brief or request to the highest standard. And with both JMP and myself having a background and passion for sport there is no better place to apply and grow my skillset.

I’m really excited about the opportunity to work on projects that are not in sport and grow my skills to benefit those that we work with. As well as working with and learning from the talented team here.
